Scene Study
Jan. 11th-Feb 15th
6pm-9pm
About this course: This six-session class is for actors wishing to hone their artistic skills, develop performance techniques, and increase an understanding of script analysis. You will build relational skills with yourself, your scene partner and your environment, without “hiding” in the script. The goal is to give you, through experienced coaching, a concise, effective and flexible method for creating believable and interesting characters. This course will conclude with a showcase in which each actor will present two scenes to an invited audience.

Callie’s scene class established a safe and creative environment that really encouraged students to try new things. She would often ask specific questions that required a deeper exploration of the material, which led to a better understanding of the scene and a fuller connection between actors. Callie isn’t just teaching the material, she is teaching skills that will stay with you after the class is done

Most any acting coach can spot where a performance isn’t clear, direct, strong and/or honest work. The differences comes in their ability to effectively connect to that actor— using the right language, exercises, substitutions, etc., that empower them specifically— enabling them to grow past their limitations. It’s in this, that Callie isn’t just “any” acting coach; but a truly exceptional coach

This class cl was a great space for me to experiment and push myself as an actor in a supportive and low stakes environment.
